BIG TIMBER CREEK
The ranch controls about 4 miles on Big Timber Creek - a classic and productive "Freestone" water that offers a purely native population of rainbow and brook trout. We ask that our guests limit themselves to fly-fishing only and practice catch and release to protect this wonderful fishery.

Big Timber Creek offers just outstanding dry-fly fishing for native rainbows and brook trout. Fishing is best from about August 1st through the end of September, depending on the amount of snowpack and spring temperatures in the mountains, which control the runoff. The canyon, shown below, is only accessible by wading up the creek, and then back down, about one half mile. We discourage folks from trying this until about the middle of August when the water is lower. For more photos of Big Timber Creek, just click on any of the following images.
